Assassin's Creed Hidden blade A Brief History of Development

The Assassin's Creed series has brought us a lot of great stories about assassins and a lot of cool weapons, the most impressive of which is the signature weapon of the assassins, the Hidden blade.

The Sleeve Sword has been around since before the first assassin appeared, but it's not well known. It has killed the tyrant Xerxes, and of course it will be stained with the blood of many more villains.

The use of the original Sleeve Sword came at a price, as the assassins had to amputate their ring fingers due to the blade's special placement. The first assassin who used the Hatsune Sleeve Sword did not know that his ring finger had to be severed, so his ring finger was considered a victim of the assassination. Gradually, finger-breaking became a figurative expression of Assassin's Creed, thus becoming ritualized and solemnized. Later on, Atelier realized a new design for the sleeve sword from the "Golden Apple of Eden", and designed a later version of the sleeve sword that did not require the finger to be broken, as well as accessories and variants such as the Sleeve Lance and the Double Sleeve Sword.

Early sleeve swords had shorter, wider blades that looked more like enlarged arrowheads. In later years, the blade was gradually changed to a long, slender, sword-like form.
Over the course of its long history, many variations of the sleeve sword have evolved, a few examples of which are typical.

The Assassins also suffered heavy losses during long encounters with the Templars, and the Templars began to capture the Assassins' Sleeve Swords in large quantities. As a result, there is no shortage of Templars equipped with Sleeve Swords such as Hailsham Kenway and Shay Kormac, and Edward's Sleeve Sword in Black Flag was also captured by the Templars.
Nonetheless, the assassins' sleeve swords pierced the necks of the Templars again and again, continuing their assassination of the Templars and their quest for freedom. The Sleeve Sword is a perfect illustration of the assassin's creed, "Everything is false, everything is permissible", and it has always been the most ideal weapon for the assassins to accompany them, and they are always loyal to each other.
